About Us

Our mission is to promote excellent and equitable outcomes for San Francisco public school students so they can reach their full potential.

Vision

Our vision is a public education system in which all students develop their intellectual capacities, are inspired to learn, are recognized for their individual needs, and are celebrated for their individual assets. They discover their passion and purpose in life, graduate prepared to contribute to and participate in a democratic society, and form a strong sense of self within a global perspective.

Our vision is a school community that ensures access to public education that is inclusive, motivational, and encouraging of many life paths. Students are exposed to the process and the practice of democracy, and educators receive the support and training necessary to engage all youth in high quality learning. Parents and others in the community are involved in daily practices that work toward excellent and equitable outcomes for all youth.

Values

Strong public schools are critical to San Francisco's viability; therefore, the community must take action to ensure their success. The Ed Fund serves as a bridge between the community and public schools to increase the impact of resources for students and teachers through our programs.

The following values guide our work:

Equity Promote equitable learning environments and actively work to break down barriers so that all students can reach their potential.
Innovation Foster creativity, engagement, and imagination as essential to learning.
Health Promote the social, emotional, physical and intellectual health of the whole child.
Climate Reflect a safe, welcoming, supportive and respectful learning environment.
Success Enable students to attain academic success by addressing their unique learning styles, needs, and interests.
Community Support family and community involvement.
Collaboration Foster greater collaboration and partnership with other organizations and institutions for the benefit of public school students.
