Ways to Support Schools

Allies for Education offers businesses a menu of involvement opportunities related to student achievement in literacy, math & science, physical activity, or school to career programs. Businesses choose a level of involvement that best matches their needs and internal capacity. Options include:

  • Volunteer with your coworkers. Your organization's staff members volunteer as a group, by either rotation or consistent attendance on a weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly basis. It's a win-win opportunity: students connect the skills they are learning to real job opportunities, and businesses have a meaningful way to engage in our local community. Check out our volunteer opportunities.

  • Lead a special project. You can assist the Education Fund with strategic development. These projects might include working in the areas of marketing, project management or fundraising. days. Inquire about a project today.

  • Donate equipment or supplies. Your in-kind donation of equipment or supplies will be directed to a school in need. Please contact Kathie Velazquez to discuss an in-kind donation: kvelazquez@sfedfund.org or 415.749.3700.

  • Become a corporate sponsor. Sponsorship opportunities are available for our annual Back to School Lunch. The event, held each year in October, is the premier event supporting public education in San Francisco. Contact Kathie Velazquez, Development Director, at kvelazquez@sfedfund.org or 415.749.3700 for more information. In addition, local businesses can sponsor special events and customized projects in schools through our Allies for Education program.
