“This is the best ‘job’ I've ever had. I get so much more than I give. Every day I am loved by these little darlings.”

Ways to Volunteer

Volunteers are needed more than ever. The San Francisco Unified School District faces $113 million in budget cuts; extra adults in the classroom make a huge difference to students and teachers with fewer resources.

Teachers throughout the city request volunteers—we match you to them based on your skills, interests, and time commitment.

We place and support volunteers in all San Francisco public schools, but we focus our efforts on 12 of the schools in our district that face the greatest challenges to student achievement.
